Emergency First Aid is for people who want a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. This course goes above and beyond the normal curriculum to include injuries common to equestrian facilities. The entire course will also have an equestrian-specific focus. Real life scenarios and role playing will be key in understanding how treatment and emergency management vary when faced with a situation in an equestrian environment.
Businesses with 5 or fewer employees per shift are legally required to have at least 1 person certified in Emergency First Aid present at every shift.
Skills include: victim assessment, CPR, choking and what to do for external bleeding, heart attack, stroke, wounds and burns. Includes CPR B certification. Recognized and approved by Ontario's WSIB.
